I had bought this to mount my Rode VideoMicro Compact On-Camera Microphone with Rycote Lyre Shock Mount Mic on, being as this was a cheaper option, you never know how well they are built.

Once i got it home, and mounted on my quad monitor stand arm, i wanted to test something, could it also hold my Sony A6400 camera?

Well it can...and (prob because it is new, so still stiff in the springs) it is solid.

Of course you are limited on mobility (why a 4/5 stars) in being able to place this where it can easily be bent around things, but you could also buy a proper camera swivel head to mount your camera on to give it more flexibility. For me, it works where it is and wont be moved much anyways except up and down.

The thread for this fit my camera base fine , 3/8's so did not require the 3/8 to 5/8 adaptor screw included.

Recommend if you want something on the budget side but solidly built. (I get real picky about quality and break things easily, so so far, so good!)

Got this because I left behind my previous mic arm in another country (it wouldn't fit in my luggage). And oh man is it a piece of garbage in comparison. Previously I bought the cheapest option available on Amazon while I was living abroad in Spain. After returning to Canada, I misplaced the regular base for my Elgato wave: 3 mic so decided to get another mic arm.
It works, I guess. But just know that if your table is more than 1" thick (and maybe on other desks/tables, haven't tried it on anything thinner yet), since the part that clamps to the table is unweighted and made of cheap plastic, if you reposition the arm at all, or leave it in a position where the mic is too close to the edge of the table or hanging off, instead of angled towards the inside of the table, its lack of stability forces the clamp (and therefore the entire arm and microphone) to come crashing to the floor.
If you have an expensive mic, I wouldn't want to risk having it fall to the ground. If you have a cheap mic, I wouldn't trust the internal components and general structure to survive one or several drops. Spend an extra $5-15 on a still cheap arm that offers a bit of sturdiness to support your equipment.

If you're looking for something just to get the job done this is it. I recommend watching Tom Bucks youtube channel reviewing cheap vs expensive arms. I got one at my desk for my gaming / voice conference condenser mic and it's fine. Use to use it for podcasting until I got a home studio setup with RODE equipment and chose the PSA 1's as mic arms which are significantly better.
This one can't move very well, the arm gets squeaky eventually and the mounting bracket is the worst.. I put duck tape on mine as a pad as to not ruin my table. But like I said it gets the job done and holds most microphones under it's weight with the right adjustments.

Well, I was a little wary buying a mic boom arm at this price point, but my fears were unfounded. What you get is a decent enough piece of kit that does the job. It's certainly strong enough to hold my Marantz MPM1000 mic and shockmount without any sign of droop. Not sure what weight mic those complaining about it being floppy are using, but I've not experienced that. The tightening knobs are well placed and hold the boom in position as you would expect. All in all, not bad for under a tenner!

For £9 this stand does its job, it has sufficient degrees of smooth movement which allows you to position your microphone at the desired level/angle, with the head of the stand having a pivot also. However, after around ~2 weeks of use with a blue snowball ice microphone the base has actually folded in as seen in the picture. Also the bottom springs have started to fold inwards, not a major issue as can just be bent out again. The stand continues to hold the microphone up, albeit movement not as free not due to the bottom catching. Screws were all very tight, but again have to keep in mind the price point!

Le bras est génial , il convient parfaitement pour tenir les micros , il fait donc ce qu'on lui demande de faire , la qualité est présente il ne ma pas l'air fragile , il supporte bien le poids de mon micro NEEWER NW-800 , il fait 316g le bras pourrait supporté à mon avis bien 450g.

Le support de maintient pour bureau est solide , le bras ne bouge pas d'un seul poil quand il est serré , de plus un morceau de mousse est présent pour ne pas rayé la surface , on apprécie la démarche.

Côté design on reste sur une monture de la lampe d'architecte et non d'un bras de micro plus joli comme de grosse marque mais le prix n'est pas la non il faut dire , on reste sur du 11€ contre 80-90€ un bras de grosse marque , alors qu'il fait le même job et c'est l'essentiel. Le rapport qualité/prix est plus que correct c'est un objet qui reste qualitatif. Le petit défaut que je lui trouve , et sur tout les bras de ce types sont quelques fois le bruit de ressort lorsque qu'on le replis , les ressorts ce détendes et on entend le petit "gling" mais rien de vraiment gênant.

Le colis était quand à lui bien arrivé dans les temps , le service prime toujours de qualité et soigné , le packaging reste simple mais bien protégé dans son carton.

If you have a heavy microphone, don't get this mic arm

Stiff to move, and broke on me after a month.

When I received it and saw the build, I was worried but thought, it should be fine, I was wrong.

The base which connects to the clamp on the table was bent about 3 weeks in and after bending it back it started to bend again, and as the base got weaker, it started to warp and drift to the left if the arm was pointing right at eventually, wouldn't hold up anymore. I decided to cheap out from another arm, and I regret it.

Don't go for this mic arm if you have a heavy microphone, such as the AT2035

Now I'll give it 2 stars because it was good while it lasted, it just needs a more secure base. Though I also wasn't a fan on how the base attached to the clamp either.

First picture is me bending it back so it straight again, like it used to be, you can see the metal has cracked from the constant correcting from it falling forward and bending. So that was an obvious thing to happen. The weak spot is in the base as it has a gap. If it didn't have a gap, it wouldnt have this issue, making it a secure base. Second picture is what it was like when it bent and the third is the damage it did to the clamps base when it was bent and I rotated it round.

Got this Mic Arm for around £7.60, and honest it's a bargin.

It holds the weight of my Blue Snowball (a pretty damn heavy Mic) Microphone perfectly, and also comes with the adapter to attach it. The only problem I had with the Mic Arm is that the paint near the grip that attaches to the cable was slightly scuffed, however this wasn't too bad as it is mostly concealed by my Monitors.

Definitely recommend for the price.
