Nice microphone for voice work.

I got this microphone earlier today and did some immediate voice recording with it. The sound quality is fine, very clear and even. Easily above this microphone's price point.

However, it doesn't represent dynamics of music well. Recording music from my speakers, it sounded very flat and lifeless. Testing it on Room Eq Workshop, it completely missed a 130hz room node that my other microphone forces me to look at. I suspect this is because the AD converter in the mic is applying compression on a very short time scale. Now this is not a bad thing for voice, but where you need accurate levels and dynamics from the mic, it is a problem.

Recommended for Voice recording only.

Although the sound quality is the only thing that's not amazing with this microphone, it's worth it for the price. I state its not amazing but that doesent mean its necessarily bad either, I just know many microphones with better audio quality. The thing with that is all of the microphones with better sound quality cost way more, and with this microphone you are at least getting your moneys worth. Its a cheap microphone that will get most of your jobs done unless you need a super high quality microphone with no background noise. This microphone does still do a decent job of omitting background noise too though. Like I said earlier in my crappy review, worth a purchase for anyone looking for a decently priced microphone for simple tasks like voice chatting with people or playing games online.

I was contemplating buying a gaming headset but I didn't like how I'd be stuck with specific brands with a specific look. This mic gives better audio quality to whoever I'm talking to, the flexibility to choose whatever pair of headphones I want, without costing too much.

Build quality is okay. A couple reviews on Amazon.com mentioned that it's unstable and tips over easily. I'm also seeing a lot of photos where the mic is positioned between the two legs. If you position one of the legs to be inline with mic then it won't tip over.

The USB cable is attached to the mic. There's no removing it. There are also no gain/volume controls on the mic.

The mic is plug and play. Windows installed whatever drivers it needed immediately.

Can't comment on music recording quality unfortunately as that's not what I'm using this for.

I bought this primarily for meetings. Since i don’t hear myself I cannot really to speak to how good it sounds from personal experience... but I can say that it is positioned about 20 inches or so from me, and about 15 inches from the speaker and everyone seems to hear me fine and there is no feedback.

It also looks and feels like a well made substantial mic (if that really means anything). Plug and played very well on my Windows 7 pro laptop.

Fifine K668 Review: Is it good?

In the box of the Fifine K668, you get the mic itself, a wind filter for the mic and a user guide. The build quality of this mic is probably the worst part. The mic I’m pretty sure is made up of mostly metal and same with the stand. But the thing that I don’t like about the stand is that it’s very hard to adjust the angle of the mic because what I had to do is I had to twist the side of the mic with a coin and then I had to adjust the mic then tighten the stand. The stand also feels pretty cheap despite being made up of metal because it feels pretty hard to adjust the legs. But, the good thing is that the stand is detachable. The adjustment angle is just about 90 degrees. The cable on the mic is pretty long on the fifine website they say it’s 1.7 meters long which I can say is true.
The sound quality of this mic is really good for the price. The mic has an omnidirectional pickup pattern so it will pick up sound all around the mic. You can also use this mic on a PS4 and I’m not sure about an Xbox One but I assume this will work with the Xbox One. To set this mic up with ps4 just plug it in then the ps4 should recognize it as a USB mic.
I would highly recommend this mic because it sounds really good for the price and this is a great voiceover mic for youtube, skype calls and anything else that you would need a good sounding budget mic for.
