|What is Shop with Points at Amazon.ca?|
|Shop with Points offers customers the ability to pay for purchases at Amazon.ca using points of participating rewards programs. After completing an easy registration process, customers who participate in eligible programs can use rewards points to pay for an order at Amazon.ca in the same way that they would use any other payment method.|
|How do I use Points to pay for an order?|
|If you want to use your Membership Rewards points to pay for part or all of your purchase, you'll need to proceed to the checkout through your Shopping Basket. When you select your payment method for the purchase, you can choose the value of points you wish to apply. Points applying to your order will be displayed under Use Membership Rewards points next to Payment Method. If points are not applying to your order, click "Apply" under Use Membership Rewards points to use your available points.|
|Are there any products I can't buy using Shop with Points?|
|Shop with Points is generally available to buy millions of products at Amazon.ca. Please note, however, that rewards program points cannot be used for all purchases at Amazon.ca, and items that currently may not be purchased using Shop with Points include digital goods (i.e.: MP3s), Kindle eBooks and downloads, Subscribe and Save items. Please also note that currently you may not use 1-Click to purchase products using Shop with Points.|
Registration and Linking
|I can't link my Membership Rewards account to my Amazon account. What do I do?|
|In general, to link your Membership Rewards account to your Amazon.ca account, you will need to complete registration by providing the information requested and accepting the Terms and Conditions. Please ensure you provide all correct information at the time of registering or your Membership Rewards account will not be enrolled for Shop with Points. Your name, address and Card details must match with those you have previously registered for the Card with American Express. If you are receiving a specific error message when you attempt to link your account, please follow the instructions on the error message.|
|I am the Basic Cardmember and would like to remove the rights of supplementary Cardmembers to use Shop with Points. How do I do that?|

|If your American Express Card is enrolled in the Membership Rewards program, you are eligible to participate. To register, simply add your Card on the registration page. Once you add your Card and register for Shop with Points, you will be able to use this Card at any time to use points to purchase millions of products at Amazon.ca.|
|Why is my American Express Card not eligible for Shop with Points?|
|Only American Express Cards issued by Amex Bank of Canada and enrolled into the Membership Rewards program are eligible for Shop with Points at Amazon.ca. Please contact American Express on the number on the back of your Card to confirm if your Card is enrolled in the Membership Rewards program.|
|Why don't I see the available Membership Rewards points on my Shop with Points Account Management page and/or on the Payments page?|
|Your Membership Rewards points may be unavailable if your balance is less than two points or we were unable to retrieve your Membership Rewards points balance.|
|Is there a fee for using Membership Rewards points for my Amazon.ca purchase on the Amazon.ca site?|
|No. There is no fee for using Membership Rewards points at Amazon.ca.|
|What is Apply by Default?|
|Apply by Default allows you to automatically apply points to every purchase. If you select On for this option, points will automatically be applied to the order. During the Checkout process, you will still have the option to change the amount of points to a different value or select to not use any points for the order.|
Ordering and Returns
|I have enough Membership Rewards points to pay for my order. Why do I have to specify the Card linked to my Membership Rewards account on my order?|
|Orders paid for using Membership Rewards points must also include the Card associated to the Membership Rewards account from which the points are applied. The Card does not need to be charged, but in the event you choose an action that increases the cost of your order, such as upgrading shipping, the Card will be charged.|
|I don't have enough Membership Rewards points to pay for my order. How can I pay for the rest of my order?|
|You may use the Card from which your Membership Rewards points are applied, Amazon.ca gift cards or Amazon Payments Stored Value to pay for the rest of your order.|
|May I apply promotional coupons to orders in which I use Shop with Points to pay?|
|Yes, you may apply any eligible promotional coupons to orders paid using Membership Rewards points.|
|Can I use Membership Rewards points toward my Amazon.ca purchase over the phone?|
|No. You can only use Membership Rewards points towards purchases online at Amazon.ca.|
|Can I combine points from multiple rewards programs to pay for my order?|
|Rewards from multiple rewards programs cannot currently be aggregated to pay for a single order. You may register multiple rewards programs at Amazon; however, rewards points purchases will be paired with the Card associated with the rewards program. Rewards points may also be combined with Amazon.ca gift cards.|
|I have a gift card or stored value available in my Amazon account. How will this be applied with Membership Rewards points?|
|Amazon applies the Membership Rewards points that you requested to use and that your rewards providerAmerican Express approved for use, then the gift card or stored value amount, and then any remaining balance to the Card linked to your registered Membership Rewards account.|
|Will I receive confirmation of the number of Membership Rewards points debited from my American Express Card account?|
American Express will debit the number of points that you elected to redeem for your purchase from your Membership Rewards account and a confirmation email will be sent to you. This confirmation email will prompt you log in to American Express Online Services where you will be able to view your updated Membership Rewards balance. To ensure you receive the email confirmation of the number of points debited from your account, please provide American Express with an up-to-date email address. Simply click here to log in or register for American Express Online Services and to update your email address.
|Can I return the items I purchased using Shop with Points?|
|Returns are subject to Amazon’s returns policy. If Amazon accepts a return for an item you purchased using only MR Points, those MR Points will be credited to your Points Account. If Amazon accepts a return for an item you purchased using MR Points and another payment method, Amazon may, in its sole discretion, credit the return to the other payment method before crediting MR Points to your MR Points Account.|
|Why can I no longer see my available Membership Rewards points at checkout?|
|To ensure you are still enrolled in Shop with Points, go to the Your Account page and the Shop with Points link. You can view any enrolled rewards program accounts and see your Membership Rewards points balance. If you do not see your Membership Rewards account, you may either try to register your Card and your Membership Rewards account again or contact American Express using the number on the back of your Card to discuss your account status.|
Shop with Points Service Terms for American Express Membership Rewards
To use your MR Points to purchase eligible items at Amazon.ca, your eligible Membership Rewards program account (“MR Points Account”) must be linked to your Amazon.ca account through the enrollment process. We reserve the right to restrict your use of Shop with Points or to un-enroll your MR Points Account by de-linking it from your Amazon.ca account at any time in our sole discretion, including when we suspect misuse or fraud.
You agree that Amazon.com.ca, Inc. and its affiliates (collectively, “Amazon”) may share information that you have provided to Amazon with Amex Bank of Canada and its affiliates (collectively, “Amex”). Amex may share information with Amazon regarding your Membership Rewards points account for the sole purpose of managing and facilitating the Shop With Points program using membership rewards points. This information sharing allows us to link your Amazon.ca account to your MR Points Account and, once enrolled, Amex may provide Amazon with information about your MR Points Account, including your total MR Points balance. We may also share information that you have provided to Amazon with Amex so that Amex can perform its functions with respect to the Shop with Points program, including processing payments made with MR Points. Neither Amazon or Amex will use information provided to it by the other party in support of the Shop With Points program for any purpose other than as expressly set forth in this paragraph.
Certain items at Amazon.ca are not eligible for purchase using MR Points, and these items may change at any time. MR Points may not be used when making purchases with 1-Click. If you do not have enough MR Points to pay for your eligible purchase, you can pay for the remainder with the Amex credit or charge card linked to your MR Points Account, or an Amazon.ca Gift Certificate. Your MR Points balance will typically be reduced to reflect the amount of your purchase at the time of your order, but in some cases it may not reflect your use of MR Points for pending purchase transactions until the purchase has shipped or otherwise been fulfilled. It is your responsibility to ensure that you have enough MR Points in your MR Points Account at the time your MR Points are ultimately redeemed. If you don’t have enough MR points remaining in your MR Points account at the time they are to be redeemed, you will be required to authorize another payment method. Your Amex credit or charge card will not be charged automatically. MR Points may not currently be combined with other rewards programs to make eligible purchases using Shop with Points at Amazon.ca.
Returns are subject to Amazon’s returns policy. If Amazon accepts a return for an item you purchased using only MR Points, those MR Points will be credited to your Points Account. If Amazon accepts a return for an item you purchased using MR Points and another payment method, Amazon may, in its sole discretion, credit the return to the other payment method before crediting MR Points to your MR Points Account. This is different from the order in which payment methods (MR points, Amex credit and charge card and stored value card) are applied at the time of purchase. See ordering section of the FAQ for details. If you no longer have an active MR points account or, if applicable, Amex credit or charge card, Amazon may process your return by providing you with an Amazon gift card.
If you use a Corporate Card to make a purchase (whether alone or in conjunction with MR points), you agree that you are using the Corporate Card in accordance with your company’s policy. In the event that a returned item results in a credit to your Corporate Card instead of a return of MR points, it is your sole responsibility to resolve this with your company and you agree to hold Amazon and American Express harmless in respect of any loss you may incur.
