Beta reader reaction:

It seems Jason Luke has a certain hit on his hands. ‘The light house’, his upcoming New Adult Contemporary Romance novel, is rich with emotion. Beautifully written, intriguing characters and a unique storyline you can’t help be swept up in the emotional roller coaster ride that plays within the pages of this book.

I found myself lost within the romance of this story. Strong and realistic characters, a storyline that not only holds intrigue but mystery and humor as well. ‘The light house’ by Jason Luke is a love story unlike any I have ever read.

A story so captivating I read this book in one sitting. Heavy on emotion, wonderfully complex characters and a compelling storyline. ‘The light house’ by Jason Luke is a love story that just melted into my heart and mind.

Jason Luke’s new Adult Contemporary New Romance ‘The light house’ has it all. An emotionally charged story that mixes love, wanting, desire, mystery, humor and hope.

Jason Luke has written a true masterpiece in "The light house"! This epic love story touched my heart and my soul, made me feel emotions so deep, that I have no doubt that it will stay with me for a very long time! Love, hate, grief, joy, tragedy and humor....."The light house" has it all!

I’ve read every one of Jason Luke’s BDSM and erotica novels, and let me tell you straight – fans of his writing will absolutely love ‘The light house’. Quite simply, this is his best book, his best story – ever.

‘The light house’ is an absorbing story of love and redemption; one you won’t forget. In this new novel, far more mainstream than his previous ones, Jason Luke paints with words just as artfully as his main character, Blake McGrath, brings seascapes to life with oil and canvas. This book is beautiful, brimming with emotion, with characters and settings so real you won’t be able to put it down.

I have been following his blog for about 8 months and I love reading his snippets. They always left me wanting more. I can't believe I waited that long to read one of his books.

I pick up his last novel The Light House and holly molly was it incrediable. It is a beautiful love story. I could not put it down until I finished it. I love when an author can get you wrapped up into a story, and make you feel like you are a part of there journey. This is one of the stories that will stick with you long after you read it.

Connie goes on trip to decide what to do about her life. Connie is an art dealer and when she comes across a painting that touches her soul like no other. She knows she must have the painting and must meet the artist.

Blake is once a famous artist but because of a tragic event, he hides away from the public and is living a life alone with his dog Ned.

Connie and Blake are both in a crossroads in there life. They can either let there past define them or take a leap of faith and start living life again.

I can't wait to read more stories by Jason Luke. I am adding the rest of them to my kindle and any new one that comes out.

What a beautiful love story. Jason Luke can weave a spell with his words and has done more than that with this story. The use of the English language is truly wonderful, words flow from the page creating a visual painting around the story.

Connie is an artist who used to dream of painting but through the manipulation of her boss she has lost her belief in her abilities and in fact, in herself. She runs away only to stumble on some superb paintings created by a local artist. They will change the rest of her life and that of the reclusive painter, the highly talented but tortured Blake McGrath.

The story is captivating from the very opening lines, I was drawn into the lives of Connie and Blake and could not put it down. Jason Luke has written what I would call a Masterpiece, but when you read the story you will know why I cannot call it that. However I do believe it is a love story which will stay with you forever. Well done Mr Luke this story will stay with me for a long time and I will be revisiting it.

I knew going in that this book would be beautifully written—Jason Luke is one of the best modern writers around. I knew that because he wrote it, I would love it. I subscribe to his daily blog, jasonluke.typepad.com, so I knew he had it in him to make a reader feel a deep range of emotion. However, romance not being my normal genre of choice, I wasn’t sure it would be entirely my thing. I was wrong—very wrong. This novel transcends “genre”. It’s a love story, I’ll agree with that. A contemporary romance if you want to be precise. But…it’s a top-notch novel under any label and the best thing I’ve read in a long time. It blew me away. I picked it up late one Friday night, fell asleep (begrudgingly) with my Kindle in my hands reading it, then woke up the next morning and dove immediately into it again over coffee and never came up for air until I was left reeling from the whirlwind. It’s a suspenseful page-turner, jam-packed with emotion, rich with characters you feel in your soul, and a giant, drooling beast of a dog that will make you laugh out loud throughout the story.

It’s hard to discuss the skillfully told story without giving away too much, but I can tell you that Blake McGrath is an artist who has lost his way through tragedy. He’s given up his craft and withdrawn from the world, taking residence in a remote beach house in coastal Maine. Connie Dixon is an art dealer escaping her own demons of the past when she happens upon a painting that changes both of their lives forever. Like other Jason Luke novels, this book twists and turns—you’ll gasp more than once. What surprised me with this book, however, was the well-rounded, relatable characters, as well as the depth of their emotion. You FEEL Blake and Connie; they will never leave you. You’ll shed tears, yes, but this isn’t a tearjerker; it’s a story of redemption, of hope. Love is lost, but it is also found. I’m so glad I didn’t get hung up on genre labels with this one—The light house is his best novel yet, and given his prior work, that is no small statement. I can’t wait to see what’s next—this book has proven to me that Jason Luke is not just a great erotica writer, not just a great romance writer, but a truly great writer. Fans of Nicholas Sparks will love this book, but truly it transcends that. I would recommend this book to anyone, male or female, romance lover or not, looking for an all-around great read. Give this one a chance and I guarantee you won’t be disappointed.

HASH(0x9df84984) out of 5 stars An Enchanting, Beautiful Love Story that Dazzled Me from the Start and Enthralled Me To the Very End! April 7 2015
By Hazel at Craves the Angst Book Reviews - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback

4.5 Magnificent Stars!

The Review:
The Light House was a captivating, sweet and angsty romance that had me enamored, staying up all night just to get to the phenomenal ending. It's rich, breathtaking scenery mixed with a beguiling love story and phenomenal writing encompassed and intrigued me! I loved this read!

Story/Characters...
Wracked with shame, Connie escapes to the small, picturesque town of Hoyt Harbor on the quiet shores of Maine, for a short reprieve to rethink her life's course. After a disappointing past four years filled with regrets and failed dreams, she’s ready for a change. Her dream of being an artist were slowly and methodically snuffed out as the domineering Duncan, a wealthy, shameless procurer of beauty and destroyer of spirit, took without giving as promised. Reevaluating her life means abandoning the secure prison he's encased her in but her strength and fortitude find her innocently touring the charms of the local establishments, where she unearths a lost and mysterious treasure of great value. Her spirits high for the first time in years, she sets out to find the lost artist in the hopes of salvaging what’s left of her dreams.

Blake McGarth, arguably the most achieved artist of the twenty first century has left the art world behind after fate stole his most precious gifts and he vowed never to return. But after rescuing the mesmerizing young Connie from a storm, his forgotten past is suddenly and unexpectedly resurrected and along with it, all the anguish he's tried unsuccessfully to bury for the past five years. A prisoner of his own making, Blake has secluded himself away, but when fate comes knocking once again, he might just find the one thing he's been secretly hoping for... redemption.

This was a beautiful, inspiring love story with shocking and heartbreaking events that spoke of redemption, rebirth and perseverance.

The Blake we see is a humble man drowning in guilt. He blames himself and fate for stealing his hope and his passions, his guilt sinking him into a colorless world of darkness. Yet when faced with the opportunity to smudge out a small portion of that guilt, he grabs onto it with a renewed vow to make it right. I enjoyed his character so much as I grew to truly care about what had happened to him and what was happening to him. My heart broke for all he suffered but I was left with a tremendous amount of hope for him and the life he was recreating for himself.

Connie was a beautiful, caring, soulful character. Right from the beginning you could connect with her. She’s on the run from a man who has had a hand in crushing the vibrant parts of her and her life hasn’t been all charms and joy but she pushed through all that and ultimately decided to conquer her fails. Meeting Blake was a chance encounter that changed everything for both of them.
Getting to know Blake and Connie as their passions and history were explored while watching their slow build towards a sweet, everlasting love was fun and exciting. This author takes us on an incredible, inspiring journey with a clean, powerful message filled with hope.

The Wrap Up:
This was a true blue, real romance and I loved everything about it. Jason Luke has an undeniably talented way of painting a colorful canvas with a stunning palette of words you can’t help but immerse yourself in as his scenes come to life inside your mind. This story will be one I read and reread time and again.

HASH(0x9df84bc4) out of 5 stars A great love story told in an elegant manner March 31 2015
By Tianna - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
There is an elegance in Jason Luke's writing that is like no other. This book
is unlike his other works that were erotic and were still just as elegantly
worded. This is a true romance in every sense of the word. There are secrets,
tragedy, and redemption in this story. You will feel the pain of Blake's past,
the sorrow of his existence and the clarity in his future. The same can be said
for Connie. She has had her share of pain and a tortured past as well. They help
each other heal and you will be rooting for them the
whole journey. Through
Jason's words you will get a clear vision into the world of fine art. Some of
the things he writes about color and technique clearly come from personal
experience or very intense research. As Blake tells Connie "art is all subject
to interpretation. The way one person sees art is always different to the way
another person views it. In fact it's the same with music, films,
books...everyone is going to have a different opinion, and there is nothing that
makes one person right and another person wrong" that being said you may think
differently than I do but I think this is his best book yet! I have to mention another main character, Ned the gentle giant Great Dane . Such a loyal companion and a true gentleman.

HASH(0x9df84e40) out of 5 stars Amazing Read March 31 2015

I am a huge fan of Jason Luke and I really enjoyed his books,Interview with a master, In love with a master and interview with a porn star.

From the off I'm going to say that JL has gone completely off kilter with this book and if you are looking for a saucy read then, you will not be getting one!

JL really has a unique writing style, it's beautiful, poetic at times and enchanting, I think he could write my christmas card list and make it beautiful. I struggle with writing in the third person but this was just amazingly written and I felt emotional throughout the book.

In JL style the book features a tortured man in the shape of Blake, he is battling his demons, he is dark but, he is also light and he was an intriguing character and I was drawn to him and I immediately loved him and his dog Ned.

Connie is a great character on the run from a controlling man, she discovers blake and an unlikely friendship forms. The connection between these two is apparent from their first meeting and i enjoyed their journey.

The book was a beautiful read and didn't need kink or dirty sex, it really is what it says on the tin 'A Love Story.' I'm finding it quite hard to find the words to describe how I feel about this book, but its a great read, its very powerful and an amazing story.

HASH(0x9df88150) out of 5 stars Jason Luke has done it again! April 8 2015

It was a complete no-brainer for me to read The light house because I love EVERY SINGLE book that Jason Luke writes, but this one truly blew me away!!! I love that Jason went where he had never gone before and wrote one of the most romantic stories I've ever read!

Jason's story of Blake, an amazingly gifted artist who experienced great tragedy and loss in his life, and Connie, a woman trying to find her own way out of a seemingly impossible situation, pulled at my heart strings. The light house explores these two characters' journeys in finding love and meaning again in their lives. The twists and turns right until the very end left me reading well into the early morning hours with tear-stained cheeks and a content smile on my face at the very end.

Being a beach lover, I was blown away with Jason's detailed descriptions of the shore and found myself right there experiencing it all with Blake and Connie. It's also impossible not to fall in love with Blake's fiercely loyal dog, Ned, and you will truly wish you could take him home with you!

EVERYONE must go out and buy this book in order to experience the exquisite writing that is signature Jason Luke! In my opinion, The light house is his best book yet! Have your tissues handy! You will not be disappointed!!!
