LOVE this feeder and the hummingbirds do too! When I saw that this feeder had gone on sale I snatched it up right away to replace the one I currently had up from the dollar store.

First of all the glass bottle is stunning! It's easy to take apart to fill and clean. I did read online that if you wash with dish soap you really have to make sure you get rid of ALL the soap residue as even the smallest amount can damage the hummingbird's stomach lining. So carefully research how to keep your hummingbird feeder clean without causing the birds harm.

I've been relaxing on my hammock on our back deck by the feeder this morning watching 2 hummingbirds at the feeder. They keep chasing each other away. It's so funny! I read one reviewer say that they didn't like that the feeder doesn't have perches. Doesn't seem to

This adorable hummingbird feeder arrived a few days ago and we cleaned it and put in the homemade nectar and hung It outside on the pole next to two other feeders for other small birds like chickadees and finches. We used a non-coloured nectar as we heard some hummingbirds may not be able to tolerate the dye in the red stuff. The antique looking bottle is red so it's not necessary to use dyed nectar. We had our first hummingbird today at the new feeder and he/she came back several times. He/she drank from each of the four petals on the bottom and then flew away only to return later and do it again. So it's easy to open, easy to fill, looks great and our smallest birdies love it too. What more could you want. By the way in case you're

One of the worst products I've purchased in a long time. I bought two of these feeders for my kids. They enjoy seeing the birds in our yard and I thought they would be a nice keepsake. Today, there is not a single component on this feeder that I can say, "at least that was built with quality". The glass is not blue but has a blue film on it that is coming off. There seems to be a coating on the metal piece that has the flowers on it. All of that is peeling off. The plastic tray constantly leaks fluid and I am certain I'm going to strip the threads trying to tighten it. The flowers themselves have started falling off the metal cover they are riveted to. Not that $27 is a huge amount of money but for

Skeptical that a bird feeder can really be squirrel proof after having bought 2 (not from this company) only to have them chewed up by squirrels or the bird food emptied in one day.

What makes this bird feeder different is its construction. It's designed in such a way that when something heavy hangs on it, such as your hand, the wire exterior prevents the holes of the bird feeder from lining up with the exterior, thus the squirrel cannot have access to the bird food. I like the wire exterior because the squirrels can't chew it. What they have been doing is hanging upside down on it and swinging, thus spraying the food on the ground below (they really are clever, aren't they?). But I can live with that and our bird food lasts a week, instead of a day.

We have our usual beautiful cardinals, Blue Jays, woodpeckers,

I bought two of these to replace other feeders that the chipmunks (I don't have any squirrels) were using as much as the birds. It only took the birds a few minutes to figure them out and they all seem to prefer them to the smaller Brome 1055 feeder hanging nearby. The chipmunks tried them out the first day and gave up.
As another reviewer mentioned, there are drainage holes on the bottom through which a fair amount of seed falls to the ground as the birds feed. This happens with all feeders but the sparrows and chipmunks clean up most of it anyway.

It's a lovely bird feeder and quite popular with the birds. Now that I know how great Brome's customer service is I would definitely buy from them again. I made the mistake of hanging the feeder from a tree branch when I first got. It found out that was a little too accessible to squirrels and chipmunks and three or four swarmed it within about an hour. They jumped from the branches above down onto the feeder and although the cage shut properly they were able to use their little claws to tear one of the green cups away from the plastic column and wiggle it back and forth to get food to drop to the ground below. Clever little buggers. I wasn't able to repair it but Brome shipped me a replacement column within two days free of change! I was quite impressed at how quickly they responded. This

Received one as a gift years ago. Heavy wind (think tornado) knocked it off its hook this year and cracked the tube. I thought all was lost and bought a new birdfeeder. When reading through the materials for the new feeder, I discovered that they have a pretty-much life-time warranty on all parts. Long story short, I called them, received a replacement tube for the original feeder and now have two perfectly functioning bird feeders... and very happy wild birds!

Good product, sturdy for sure and keeps the squirrels and crackles out and prevents them from spilling the contents of seeds. But even with special food for the cardinals, they still don’t even come on it, preferring to peck up the seeds that fall on the ground, same thing for the mourning doves.
I specifically bought this so the cardinals would eat in leave like the add says, but misleading!
The finches and chickadees loge it though, but sure was a lot of money to spend on it to not have the cardinals come
But it sure is sturdy though!

This feeder is AMAZING!! Exactly as advertised and no joke, huge magnet for humming birds! I put mine out with food and with in 5 minutes saw 8 humming birds. They just flock to it! Took a great video in slow mo of it in action. Highly recommend this product! Saw another 15 today, as they keep coming! All day we hear them buzzing around it, feeding.

My humming birds and my orioles and downy woodpeckers love this feeder. The hummers were using it after only being up for a few minutes. (but I can never get a pic cause they don't sit long enough....hence the oriole pic) Ordered this and it was here in two days!!! Is a really good size at 16 oz. The way it cleans up is a breeze. Don't really need bigger than this because I change out the water every two weeks anyway. Thanks for fast service!!!

I have been feeding hummers for years and hang 5 feeders at a time. My original feeders finally packed it in. The new design of the same feeder was not good. It leaked, and the birds would NOT feed from it. I have been through about 4 different types of feeder and finally found this one and although the bottle part is quite flimsy, it is really easy to take apart and clean and best of all THE BIRDS LOVE it! I have had up to 7 at a time on the one feeder. I plan to buy a few more.

This is the best ever bird seed post. I love how you can move it to different positions (it pivots on a hinge) and best of all- the angle is genius. The squirrels cannot hang down from anywhere on the bar to get at the bird seed.

Just what I've been looking for - BUT - only giving it 4 stars because of the cheap screws included. You'll need a package of #8 Robertson (square) screws, 1 1/2" long to avoid installation aggravation. Otherwise, surprisingly good & heavy-duty. I mounted mine (2) onto a 2x6 screwed horizontally onto 4x4 posts on the outside of my deck railing. I'm able to see all the action from my kitchen window.

My 15 day old chicks love these! I soak them for 30 minutes in warm water to soften a bit and ensure chick grit is available to them. I have 20 chicks and they usually huddle together afraid of me out of reach, but after twice giving them these worms, three of the chucks are already eating from my hand. Just what I wanted to happen!

The bucket arrived the day after it was shipped even though I was given a delivery window of at least 1-2 weeks! It was my first time ordering mealworms so I had no idea how big 3 lbs was, haha! My feathered friends were skeptical at first when my son sprinkled some on the ground, but they were soon having a feast! I'm very pleased with the product (I love the bucket) and the company!

EDIT: Since my first review, which I originally loved and gave 5 stars for, I have had issues. Perhaps the heat was too much to keep them out in the shed, but I developed maggots in the bucket. Also, as I went to re-order them for a fresh batch, and the price DOUBLED!!

This is a beautiful bird feeder, easy to use, and hang. Its got a strong wire to keep it in the tree, and the birds love it! Although the birds can go through 2 refills a week (alot on the ground) I feel if the seed space was smaller they wouldnt come out easily. 5 stars!!

It's a lovely looking bird feeder...very sturdy...easy to re-fill and easy to clean...and the birds really love it...unfortunately, so do the squirrels. I've hung this in several different places and it doesn't seem to matter where I put it, the squirrels are still able to jump it and shake all of the seed to the ground. This leaves me filling it with seed every single day which is kind of a pain, really. I still recommend it for those who are looking for an attractive feeder who have their squirrel problem already addressed. As for me, I'll be spending some time doing some research on how to keep the squirrels at bay.

The service was great, I received the bird feeder earlier than expected. I have had the feeder for almost a month, until the squirrel climbed up upon it and broke it. Let's start from the beginning, I live in a fairly large urban center. I noticed that a family of sparrows had settled into my rolled up awning. I thought it would be nice to feed the family, so I went on amazon and ordered this feeder. The first few weeks were great, I had robins, sparrows, starlings, red winged blackbirds(which I named Satan, because it kept pecking my dog on the head when she went outside). But, blackbirds aside the first few weeks the bird feeder was great. Third week squirrels started using the feeder, okay I thought to myself, well they have to eat too, right. By the fourth week more squirels came, their numbers steadily increased with

We live in Toronto and there isn't a day that goes by without 2-5 squirrels sniffing around our yard for food. I have this feeder hanging on a horizontal pole and the squirrels can't get at it, no matter how hard they try. In fact, at this point they've given up trying and just scrounge for leftovers on the ground. I would definitely recommend this feeder to anyone who has frequent squirrel guests! (I mean, they're cute but they kinda ruin the party)

Mostly sparrows visit the feeder, but we also occasionally get finches, cardinals, blue jays and a few smaller songbirds. I usually have to refill the feeder every day, that's how popular it is!

We live in Eastern Canada and have the smaller red squirrels. They have gone through numerous of our previous feeders ranging from plastic to wooden ones, which they chew right though (if they have to) to get to the seed. I watched a squirrel try to get into our Brome Squirrel Buster. After several attempts the squirrel just gave up and I haven't seen squirrels near it since. I am very happy with this feeder. Here is a youtube video of a squirrel trying to get into our feeder.

I received the squirrel buster bird feeder within a few days , well packaged . When I first saw it I could see that it was well made and cleverly designed . The squirrels tried to get into it the first few days and then didn't bother anymore . But I have had problems with the feeder since the first day . Something happens inside with the tensioner (the red threaded part ) from normal use and after a while the feeding spaces are almost closed , so then I have to go outside and reset the tensioner . I think it is because of the feeder twisting on the post that it releases the tension that was set to keep it open . There is no way to tape the tensioner so it will not move and still have it operate as designed ,

Super excited about feeding the birds and even though it's late winter, early spring I had noticed a humming bird in my yard collecting some of the dog fur I put in a bush for Bushtits this time of year for their nesting material.

So upon seeing this I figured he was setting up shop in the neighborhood and without a flower around he'd need food.

Couldn't be happier and he found it right away along with a few others that seemed to come out of nowhere!

Easy to fill, and clean. No weird little crannies to get filled with debris. Also dishwasher safe but I don't think I'll put it in there.

This is super sturdy and well thought out.
They've included an ant moat with built in overflow so if it rains it won't dilute the nectar.

It took a few days for the hummingbirds to start using this. Perhaps they weren't accustomed to the look of it. They were soon attracted however, and now it is almost constantly being used.
It's very easy to refill and to clean as well.
The birds seem to appreciate being able to perch on the edge while drinking, and tend to stay for quite long periods at a time.
Highly recommended.

Purchased this early last winter and it's been great. Arrived promptly, well packaged so no damage. Have been feeding the wild birds for many years and never saw any hummingbirds until last winter when 2 showed up looking for food. Have had other poorly designed impossible to clean feeders in the past, so did some research and this brand got great reviews. Pricey but well designed, very easy to clean and as others have stated the ant moat and central rain gathering area work well. The resting rail on this version is well situated for the hummingbirds to perch and comfortably feed. Second winter and no sign of damage, use it mid-Oct to mid-March. It has been dropping down to below zero a lot here this winter so I bring it in at night and put it out again in the early am. They seem to come by mostly between

This year I was surprised to see a couple of Orioles spending time in our "bird spa". I bought this feeder to keep them around and away from our hummingbird feeders. It worked right away and now I have counted five Orioles hanging around our "bird spa". It is so successful in attracting these beautiful birds that I just purchased a second one.

I first spotted oriels at our new house this spring. I did not know what they were? I started with half an orange, then put out grape jelly. Now they don’t eat the orange. I works great, I wish I would have got a rather guard because the jelly gets all wet. But, they still eat it. I have not yet tried putting in the sugar after. You won’t go wring with this feeder.

I love this stuff, it has so much nutritionally in the mix for my birds. They love it, and I never see them pick out seeds they don't like. They are also gently coated in nutritionally beneficial oils, and are of excellent quality. Nice packaging, resealable at the top. As will all birdseed from all companies/brands, freeze it for 24 hours before using to make sure there are no bugs in the seed, even those with controlled conditions. It does not damage the seed, but kills the bugs and their larvae. Wouldn't do to have an infestation in your house!

Hagen Parakeet/Budgie Staple VME Seed. Fresh and arrived with the bag intact. This is a great seed to use whenever I notice the birds are losing weight (their breast bone feels a bit sharper...can't tell just by looking because they fluff out their thousand tiny feathers). It has good fibre content and low fat count. They birds just seem to inhale this stuff, because they're eating it so fast.

Worked well all winter in Edmonton, AB. I bungee corded mine to the deck rail using the provided hooks as anchors for the bungee cord. It's nice that I can tip out the brown plastic part for cleaning it but leave the anchored black metal in place. Holds a good amount of water. Not too much; not too little.

I've had this for 3 or 4 years, I only plug it in during the winter. Keep it on a timer so only on during daytime hours. It's so nice to see the birds coming to drink a little fresh water on cold winter mornings. I have it close to my window so it gets a little dirty from all the splashing but that's a small price to pay. If this ever stops working I'll absolutely buy it again.

... the design has serious (possibly legal) problems!

Yes, it keeps water in the bowl from freezing;

But, the electrical cord is only 1 foot long, meaning that none of the mounting methods; resting on the ground, on a post, or on a railing, will be within 1 foot of an electrical outlet. And then, a sticker warning on the bottom tells you not to use this device with an extension cord. Totally stupid design, and undoubtedly compliance with risk-adverse corporate lawyers; except, of course, if this thing fails during the warranty period, the excuse will be that you plugged it in through an extension cord, even though that is the only way you can actually use this device.

That aside, it is a really good heated birdbath!

Our bird feeders used to be overrun by squirrels, we have a LOT of them in this area. After about a day of desperate attempts the squirrels have pretty much given up now. Once in a while a squirrel will jump on the feeder, quickly realize that no food is available, and jump off again. The feeder looks well built, so I'm hoping it will last for many years. The finches were not quite sure about it at first, but now are coming more and more often. So I'm a happy customer.

This product works well. We have tried a number of options (such as the cylindrical tubes) and this is the only one that works to keep all squirrels and raccoons off. You may need to adjust the height if squirrels figure it out but once you find the correct distance from the ground and from the feeder it will work perfectly as advertised.

I love this hook! I is exactly as described, and works really well. Super easy to install!

Main advantage for me: it allows me to keep bird feeders close and, at the same time, keeps my patio floor clean of spills and (almost all) bird droppings! Right now (summer), I am using my two hooks for hummingbird feeders and get to see my tiny friends many times every day. They do not mind feeding right next to me if I do not move too much! So cute! When it gets colder, I will switch to sunflower seed feeders and enjoy mess-free visits from my other winged friends! : D

Very well designed, and very sturdy. I can easily reach the feeders for refills or cleanups. Zero complaints about this product.

At this price, this is a bird lover's dream accessory!!!

As others have said this feeder will NOT disperse sunflower seeds still in the shell. The seeds will just sit there untouched by the birds. Some of the pictures advertising this product and the description is misleading. It seems like it might be designed OK for smaller seeds like some other mesh type feeders with no opening in the bottom. Elsewhere if you look up the product the description says "No/No Feeder Cardinal Caged Nyjer/Thistle Feeder."

It does the job it’s for. I have it tied to my deck railings as I wouldn’t trust just screwing it into the deck with the small screws. I am quite happy with it. My only wish is that the arm were smooth where it attaches to the pole. Squirrels have no problem jumping up and pulling themselves up on the flat ridged arm. A round smooth arm with nothing to grab would make this perfect.

I bought two of these poles along with the baffler. It works however it really needs some improvements. I first used the ground attachment base to install directly on the ground. Not strong enough, when the bird feeder was hung the pole leaned and actually fell down. Next I attached directly on the deck with the plastic deck anchor supplied. Again, the pole leans when the feeder is hung. The anchor first should be made of metal not plastic and it should be at least four inches or more longer to support the pole. In a windy day the pole and feeder were knocked over. The attachment for the top to suspend the feeder also works but is made of plastic, I would have preferred the same metal as the pole. The pole itself is about 1 1/4" and it also could be made larger and sturdier. The product is

Despite the photo, the cardinals in my yard are unable to use this feeder despite their best efforts. The perches are too short and too close to the openings. The cardinals try to bend and twist to get at the seed but usually end up eating the remnants off the ground. The chickadees, sparrows and finches adore it, though. There are only two ports so we have had some battles, but I really enjoy the attraction. I noticed a little condensation in the tube even though it is in the shade so will have to keep an eye on that. Have had absolutely no issues with squirrels or chipmunks getting at it, despite their numbers in my garden. Overall very satisfied.
