Good 8tb drive. But this is the air-filled (revised) model that's louder and runs hotter.
Just a follow-up

I ordered from amazon and it arrived. But the listing is for the helium model(68LHPN0). What actually arrived was the air model
OK, I decided to give it a try in my synology anyways. However, it's much louder with annoying drive seeks. This confirms that 1) air filled model and b) 8tb platters are louder anyways and 3) that WD is labelling 7200 rpm drives as 5400 drives but spinning at the higher speeds. This is coming from 4tb wd red (cmr) drives. Put the old drive back in; whisper quiet.
Shame on WD for changing the specs without making it clear. On the back of the SMR WD Red scandal; they are lucky they have an oligopoly on the market.
This is NOT a problem if your NAS or desktop is in a place where noise isn't an issue. But I run mine in the TV room right beside my couch and I was specifically looking for the quieter 5400 rpm helium models.
