I just got this for use indoor as a light on my main staircase which has no plugs. I had a smaller dimmer motion triggered LED for the last 10 years but it runs on AAA and I'm tired off recharging the batteries every 3 weeks. I bought two for my one landing staircase but really one is adequate considering how bright it is. I'm not sure if the sensor also detects daytime vs nighttime though, as it seems any motion sets it off. I'll have to see in bright daylight tomorrow if it ignores motion when the ambient brightness is high. If you don't want smart connected features or be able to control it via your phone app, you don't need to buy the bridge. if you are buying into the whole ecosystem anyway because you have other pathlights and security lights then I guess it makes sense.
