A light, fun, informative read. No great plot, but enough to keep you interested.

I wasn't sure what to expect when I started into CRA. I'd heard (and read) about the hype, but this isn't my usual fare. Still, having lived in Asia for over a decade and still travelling there frequently, along with many business and personal connections in the area, I figured I should read this book just so I could talk about it with others. So, a reading binge started. I wasn't really intending to spend several days reading this, but the book roped me in quickly with its light-weight content and narrative (not meant to be a negative comment), and I ended up working through the book in three days reading around a work schedule.
The narrative tone is light and easy to read. There's not a great plot, but then, this isn't mean to be hardcore literature. It's a fun read, and having visited many of the places mentioned in the book, and dealt with people similar to those described, it was perhaps more relevant to me than I thought it would be. The plot is simple enough, although insights into parts of the Asian culture are illustrative (and in a few cases explained some things I've seen), and brings to light how the culture functions.
Entertaining? Definitively. Informative? For sure. Fun to read? Yep. As a light, fun read this is a great example of a summer book, and now I can't wait to start into the sequel.
