I always enjoy Eyewitness travel guides for the detail provided. The drawings and pictures of buildings and important sites is most imformative and often provides real insight into a city or region. There is a problem with this guide to India though - it is waaaaay too heavy to pop into a purse and have handy as you visit a site and that's a complaint I've had about the guides for other countries too. Read it on the airplane or in the hotel but forget about taking it along on the tour!
