This Motion picture does have a plot. The movie has alot of action. It is a combination of a bloodsport, and kickboxer, but a better version I believe. The fight scenes are fantastic. Their is alot of fighting, and there is a lot of quality acting from Van Damme, and Ex-bond of the past Roger Moore[both are superb actors]. The only disappointment I have is that Janet Gunn did not play the hot babe who was after Jean Claude. The chemistry looked so so, it was there, but that magic was missing, the chemistry! I recommend this movie to all the old and new fans who like and admire Jean Claude-. A great motion picture!

This is a fun "indiana jones" type martial arts movie. It's Van Dammes best movie, even though Van Dammes fight sequences are mediocare. There is some nice capoeira in the movie. The atmoshpere & cinematography are great.

When you see the movie cover you will think that this is a Bloodsport movie. In a way it is, but it doesn't really get there until the SECOND half of the film. It starts with an old Van Damme telling a story of how he learned to fight, but doesn't even go there. This movie goes from how he escapes New York to becoming a prisoner on a pirate ship, then getting with Roger Moore and his idiot sidekick. They go from one island to the next and end up at a fighting tournament, which is not long at all. I swear this is just like Bloodsport: though Van Damme doesn't do any real cool moves, a bunch of fighters from around the world competing to win. The prize: a giant solid gold statue. I'd like to see anyone even move something like that. The only original idea this movie has is the fact that each fighter is representing not themselves, but their country. Still, this movie sucks.

Ever since Bloodsport I've been disappointed with Van Damme martial art movies: the moves are all too slow. But what Van Damme does in this movie is what he should really just focus on: Tournment-style Martial art movies. It's no wonder that this movie was good, Van Damme co-produced this with Frank Dux. That guy can really put a storyline together. This reminds me alot of the movie Best of the Best. A real good tournament movie despite Van Damme weak choreography. After this flick, just watch Jackie Chan and Jet Li movies and leave movies like Lionheart and Knock-Off collecting dust on the video-shelves.

Yes the storyline is familiar, but it is still a very good film. I see a lot of people have slagged this film off, this sounds like a dislike to jean claude van damme more than anything else. I would definiley suggest to friends to watch this film especially if your a fan.

If you want to know the story, read Maltin's reveiw, we are just here to say this movie is amazing! there are loads of exciting fight scenes which never get repetitive or boring. The 18 certificate (or whatever that is over in USA)was not needed, as there is no bad language, gore or dirty stuff. It is really really brill. You sould buy it! it is the sort of film you could watch over and over again without getting bored.

This was the worst movie ever. The story is nearly the same than in Blood Sports which was one of the two good movies from Jean-Claud (The other one is hard target)
Don't whatch it...

Although the story was a ripped-off, this movie is excellent overall. A quality production and bravo on the directing!
