This book is like the bible of physiology. It has clear, logical explanations of every physiological concept you need to know. It is easy to read, the illustrations are excellent, and it can make even the most daunting topics very manageable. This book let me score the average in undergrad physiology that I needed in order to get into medicine. Then it turned out that we use this book in medicine to study physiology as well. It is big, yes, and sometimes it is over-detailed, but I am a big fan.

For a student in physiology, this book is fantastic and very scientifically focused. It is also very accurate and go in dept into mechanisms as compared to other physiology books (e.g. Guyton and Hall). However, if you are looking to study from this book for medical school, this book maybe a bit overwhelming and too detailed. Other physiology books maybe your first stop, and use Boron if you want to go more in depth.
