I just finished reading Lady Ellen and I am hooked on this new series! Despite a slow build at the beginning, it quickly pulled me in as the plot grew more complicated and intriguing. It was sad when Lady Ellen was forced to choose between remaining on mainland Ireland and marrying Mr. Martin or being banished to the Aran Islands to live with her aunt. The life on Inis Mor really grew on me and I feel that Lady Ellen truly became one of “them”. Everyone on Inis Mor was so friendly and there were many humorous and romantic elements to these chapters. The book has a lot of adventure and danger too, and some of the events left me feeling shocked and heartbroken for the characters. The end of the novel left me anxious to read the sequel, because I have become so attached to the characters in this series. This was an excellent story! Highly recommend.
J.G. MacLeod is such an eloquent author who has the ability to describe scenarios in a way that make me want to be with Lady Ellen in person. Lady Ellen is a strong woman determined to figure out who she is and who she wants to be. I eagerly await the next book in this series and congratulate J.G. MacLeod on her amazing feats!
