As a big BIG Hannibal fan as well as a big fan of eating, this was a great choice. Some beautifully looking and tasty dish through the book (many I've already made, many more I look forward to making) and lots of fantastic behind the scenes information on my favourite show. Janice Poon's Feeding Hannibal is a serious must have for any foodie, fannibal, or cannibal!
Such an amazing book! This is the perfect gift for the Hannibal fan in your life, or a perfect gift for yourself.
First off, look at that cover? I mean, honestly, that alone is awesome, right!
One part cookbook, one part story telling and another part behind the scenes. A trifecta of interesting reads and experiences to tantalize even those who don't care to cook up and hunt down the ingredients for the Lung and Loin in Wine Sauce (101).
The visuals; photos on set, the food photography and the sketched out mock ups are intriguing and you can see the thought process of those who worked the foods into Hannibal. So interesting and the person I bought a second copy for, a fellow Hannibal lover, was ecstatic with it! To be honest, I bought the original book for them but ended up keeping it for myself - shhh.
Definitely not for the beginner cook! Some of these meals require a great amount of skill in the kitchen. This book is something to aspire to for my boyfriend and I who are huge Hannibal fans and very adventurous eaters. The book is sleek and gorgeous and the layout and photos are high quality and full of beauty. The book also shows you how to plate your dishes exactly like Hannibal did throughout each episode. A very exciting and lovely read (this book is also huge and full of many, many recipes).
This cookbook has every recipe I can think of from the show, and it's written by the food stylist that worked on the program. The recipes are clear, and because Hannibal's tastes can run exotic, she gives recommendations on appropriate substitutes for some of the more uncommon ingredients. There are also lots of tips on how to do some fancy presentation with your food, like how to make tomato roses. Tons of pictures, full colour, and there's a foreword from Mads Mikkelsen. Any fan of the Hannibal program needs this cookbook.
Rather bias since I'm a HUGE Hannibal fan. Met Janice Poon once in Toronto, just after season 1, she's a wonderful lady! So many interesting stories! This cookbook is gorgeous, and I can't wait to try all the recipes!
This book is beautiful - a fantastic gift for foodies, horro and Hannibal fans! Full of Ms. Poons' gorgeously styled creations and recipes, I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of production and content. Definitely recommend and I'll be buying again!
