Hero of Games

This is one of those special games. I don't think many words can summarize how much I truly love this game. I remember when I was a child of nine, getting this game for the first time, and playing it with my brother. He gave up after we got almost half-way through. Then I played till the end. It took about a year to beat, but good lord was it a worthwhile, building experience that paid off in the end.
Everything's perfect. I view it, of course, through rose-coloured glasses, but I stand by my opinion. The fact that you start as a young boy, and then grow over seven years into a young man means that you grow with the game. The main character ends up being someone cool you look up to. The temples are great. The Water Temple may be an exception, but everything else is awesome -- in particular the Forest and Spirit Temples. Those will always be my favourite ones in each play-through (I would add in the Fire Temple and Ganon's Castle as close ties for third). The bosses, oh the bosses! I think that the best one is Phantom Ganon, or maybe perhaps Twinrova. Ganondorf, the final boss, is not far behind. The cinematic quality of that last battle is astounding -- it makes you really feel the tension in saving a world from complete destruction.
This will always be Nintendo's masterpiece for me. My childhood spent playing N64 is filled with memories of Mario, Donkey Kong 64, Goldeneye 64, and a host of other great games. But this one stands out. This one's the best. Nothing more or less could be said.
