It'll Satisfy a Pérusse Craving
on November 23, 2003
When I first listened to L'Album Pirate, I was a little disappointed because it didn't have as much variety as the Albums du Peuple. For example, it does not contain any "Sexe Conseil" sketches, and had only one "radio station" sketch, which you'll hear if you let the last track keep playing for a couple minutes (it's a CDKC sketch, but it's quite short and not as funny as some previous ones). However, L'Album Pirate is crammed with "Le gars qui magasine" sketches, which are freakin' hilarious. Some sketches, such as "La réprimande", and pretty much all of the songs, are not Pérusse's best, but others, such as "Clients très fatigants au restaurant" for its unbelievable - even for Pérusse! - amount of puns, and "Télé communautaire - Adrien" for its quaint commercial breaks, are excellent. This isn't a Great Album overall, but it's definitely worth it for your Pérusse collection, if only to hear a character snap, "Antipa, sti!" to his girlfriend who keeps asking what "antipasti" is; one of the most pointless puns he's ever done. Ahh, what a genius.
