Purchased this unit to attach to a Bell Expressvu HD receiver to create a PVR.

Set up was quick and easy. Drive is quiet and performs perfectly.

It's great, no complaints so far. It got four instead of five just because I've seen smaller drives, but it was super cheap, so... Would have liked a drive that was compatible with mac and pc, but perhaps I just did not format it the right way. We'll see. Otherwise, all is good with the Samsung drive in the lacie casing.

I have had this Lacie Hard drive for a couple of weeks now and use it as a PVR with Bell TV 6131 Receiver. It works wonderfully. Easy to set up with receiver, just plug in the USB cable to the back of the receiver and wait for the step by step instructions on the screen.

It will be up and running in a couple of minutes. The only slight negative is that every time you turn on the hard drive to use, the receiver has to re-sync with the hard drive, which takes a couple of minutes to do, just follow the on screen steps, it will shut down the receiver for a few minutes and then you will see your satellite signal re-setting.

Other than that it is great and easy to set up to record, and the programs show in their native HD quality. I would certainly recommend this hard drive. It is also small and looks nice, polished black color.

I bought this drive a few months ago after looking at all the compact 1Tb external drives available.
First thing that needs to be said is that ALL LaCie drives ARE Mac-friendly (and always have been)!
Second thing is that It took a bit of digging to absolutely verify that it would work under Mac OS X 10.4.11 -- not just Mac OS 10.5 & up

I liked the size & design of it, and that it comes with its own back-up software, LaCie's "Intego Back-Up Assistant".
In my case, the enclosed software discs didn't work but it was easy enough to download the software directly from LaCie (they also have a Pro version for sale that will allow you to make it a bootable disk and also back-up over a network -- it's not expensive, either).
The software is simple to install, & setting up a back-up schedule is super easy (I only had to read through the first few pages of the very thorough PDF manual for this).

The drive itself is a lovely, sleek, and very quiet little thing that looks great beside my iMac. An added bonus is the fabulous blue "power on" light which also functions as a great little night light in my office.

After having this drive for 3 mths. now, would I buy it again? Absolutely, definitely yes!!!

Bought this external hard drive to use as a PVR with my Bell 6131 HD satellite receiver. Set up was easy and quick. Works well with the satellite receiver. Using this in our bedroom and only minor complaints are that the Lacie drive is a bit noisier than I thought it would be and that I had to put a small piece of black electrical tape over the blue light on the drive so it wouldn't wake me up during the night. Overall, still a very good external drive that is very compatable with the Bell 6131 HD satellite receiver.

I just had this hard drive for only a few weeks. So far it's quiet and performs fault-lessly. I can only wish it will remain so in the future.

This was my fourth Lacie iTB external hard drive. This product is very sleek and beautiful, and Lacie is a well known manufacturer.

The only thing that bugs me, is that the enclosure is very tricky to open if you have to. I did not have any HDD failure, but I would like to easily upgrade to more storage if I want

After having several different cheap drives fail after a year or so, I asked the developer of the SuperDuper backup application what he would recommend. One of his recommendations was LaCie, so I bought one. Then two more. Then two more. I have five of these now that I rotate for my backups and they seem to keep on running. I carry them to work in my backpack so they are rugged enough for a little jostling. I don't know how they compare on speed because I always run the backups at night.

Bought this external HD to change my Bell HD receiver into a PVR and it is doing the job quite well! It was very easy setup, just plug it in the receiver, detects it, restart receiver and enjoy! Very quiet, installed it in a bedroom and you can hardly hear it. This is my 2nd Lacie HD, very satisfied.
