I loved the opportunity to experience Andrew's journey vicariously. The Darien Gap has been a mysterious dream of mine for many years. I naively embarked on a road trip to this destination way back in 1978. As far as we got was to the USA border. I applaud Andrew's courage and tenacity especially at the age of 18 to pursue his dream and actually accomplish it. The book is a compilation of daily diary or journal entries and these immediate impressions of people and places make the read very personal and poignant. This book reminded me of the "Lost City of Z"
