Mr. Iz]mailov's book was really great he used personal experiences to describe the solutions that he found useful in coping with his trauma and PTSD. He told of trauma starting from when he was a child in a clear and easily understandable way, this was a very informative way to begin his story. As with myself he could not understand why someone could hate him so much without him doing anything wrong other than being born! Because of the constant harassment and abuse you think that you are the person with the problem when in fact it is the abuser, who uses you like their own personal whipping boy. Their method of both physical and emotional abuse causes one to feel ALONE! As you grow up and pressures mount it seems like you are losing your mind, for me it caused tremendous stress like Philippe. We both were high achievers thinking that would somehow make up for events in childhood but in fact made the problem worse. I loved the way he interspersed trauma with solutions brought about by psychological help. Some of the ways he uses because of professional help were wonderful like the one where you pretend to be a pilot before take off and check each think before entering a relaxed and comfortable state which enables you to begin the healing process. Some of his methods are ones that I use and others were totally new, both were equally good. i would recommend this book to both PTSD survivors and anyone who wishes to learn of their close ones suffers from and what methods are successful in making them get a clearer notion of what works and doesn't. I would also recommend it to professionals giving them more insight to survivors of trauma and it's consequences and personal solutions. Survivors will find all of the exercises helpful in my opinion. Thank you Philippe for sharing your trauma and solutions... very helpful. This was a truly inspirational and uplifting workbook I found very helpful in adding armor to my arsenal of coping methods.
