If you've been struggling to lose weight, or have lost weight and are wondering why you're not able to keep it off, Dr. Jason Fung's "The Obesity Code" is a book that needs to be read. It supports the concept of eating low carb - high fat diets, such as Ketogenic, Paleo, etc, however takes a more accepting approach to many carbohydrates excluded from a typical low carb diet. There are ways to have your potatoes and eat them too. This is significant because potatoes and similar starches like yams and beans are definitely not considered Ketogenic but can and do make up a part of a healthy diet. What does not, is sugar and it's derivatives such as fructose, sorbitol, maltose, etc which our traditional Western diet is loaded with. Bottom line, stay away from sugar, refined grains and processed food (anything that comes in a box or a bottle and contains more than one ingredient), eat a diet high in healthy fats (saturated and monounsaturated), throw in some fasting (we eat way too much and far too often) and a bit of exercise and you will be well on your way to a healthier and fitter you. This book is truly a must read, for everyone who needs a body reboot (which means anyone who has eaten a Western Diet).
