Buy this book now, no really just buy it if you live on the prairies or for someone who lives on the prairies! Lyndon Penner has, if it is possible, outdone himself with his latest gardening book. His writing style is so clear, articulate, friendly, and fun, you would think he was writing just for you and your own garden. The book is well organized with many beautifully, captioned photographs and sidebars and lots of practical suggestions for both the novice and experienced gardener. A particularly lovely and unique feature is the section with interviews of people Lyndon Penner has been influenced by in his gardening life and career. Even if you don't have a garden, this is a book you can read and dream about having one.
Reading Lyndon's book is full of information, and a very easy cheerful read. I'm devouring the section of this book on "Plants for open, sunny spaces". It's fun - full of great information with enough jokes thrown in to make fun! I appreciate all of the localized growing tips - definitely a worthwhile purchase! If only I had this book two years ago, I might have saved some effort & money!
