I love both the workouts on this DVD. The exercises are effective, and you can use as much, or as little, weight as you want. In a short period of time, I noticed quite a difference in the tone of my muscles. I was concerned about bulking, but clearly that hasn't happened. I use 8 lb weights for most of the exercises and 5 lbs for the arm laterals. I am going to be using 10's now for a few of the exercises as I feel ready to add a bit more challenge. I do level 1 one day, cardio the next, then level 2 weight workout the third day, then cardio, floor work, HIIT, kickboxing, or kettle bell on the fourth day etc.
I really love this workout by Jillian Michaels! It is completely customizable (up the intensity by upping the weights that you use), and no matter what you choose, you end up sweating at the end!! Profusely!
There are two levels to this workout. Level One is a more basic level with less combination moves, and Level Two incorporates combination weight moves. Both levels work up a sweat and I would recommend incorporating this in to your regular workout schedule in combination with days dedicated to cardio as well.
One note- the DVD that I ordered is NOT a Blu-Ray as advertised, but merely a DVD.
I have used Jillian Michaels work out DVDs for quite awhile and am never disappointed. This workout is fantastic! The exercises are basic moves that allow you to progress with the amount of weight you want to lift. level one is my preferred work out as I can use heavier weights and have been increasing my weights over the last few weeks.
I wasn't sure about this dvd at first because of other reviews its all weights. I decided to try it and really liked level 2 as it is weight lifting but theres still cardio and some abs in there which I really liked. Level 1 was more weight lifting.
