I wanted to like Luna. I really did. She is sweet and good to everyone but, words like, martyr complex, people pleaser and hypocrite come to mind. I found her likable but, annoying and frustrating. Rip is also frustrating because, he never comes out and say how he feels about Luna until almost the very end. However, it's easier to take because, men don't usually talk about their feelings, they show you. Luna misreads his actions, which he shows her over and over that he cares about her and then the one times when he is upset and asks her to give him space, she pushes and pushes until he snaps at her. She then goes on acting childish and freezes him out. In my opinion, she kind of got what she deserved. When someone asks you to back off and give them space, you honor their request!
This book like all Mariana Zapata's, is a slow burn but, I found it too long winded with too much inner rambling. I did a lot of skimming. I usually love her novels but this one fell short of my expectations. Luna and Rip's story however, at least when you strip it down, is really good, but it could have been great with a few changes. I am still a Mariana Zapata fan though.
