So far so good! We searched high and low for a weighted blanket and were a bit astonished at pricing around the country. Seems like the low end is $300 which is just crazy! This one is better on the budget, at time of purchase was $220 and so far we are pleased.
+ uses tiny glass beads; I was worried they would slough to one corner or edge of the blanket with time but it seems they keep evenly dispersed which is great
+ nice and heavy; we got the 15lb version, it's fun to reach for the blanket having forgotten it's a beast, it's deceptive
+ very relaxing, mostly got it for the wife as she likes to kick when she sleeps (restless legs) and this has been keeping that way down
+ easier to fall back asleep if you wake up in the night
+ one of my favourite moments in the world is jumping in a cool bed to fall asleep as I finally get cozy, this blanket does not disappoint, I think it takes longer to warm up but that's nice because it preserves that cool feeling for longer
- no included cover so we will have to get our own
- no included sheet; not that you really need instructions for a blanket, but it would be nice to include some words like care and cleaning instructions, maybe usage recommendations and that sort of thing
Overall we are pleased with this purchase. I still have a bit of sting from the price tag, I think $150 is more reasonable as the materials all together are probably in the $50-75 range but I hesitate to make my own. In any case, it has helped with sleep and we love it so far.
