Just when you thought this world of The Elite Seven couldn’t get crazier or better, it just did! In true K. Webster fashion she wrote an intense continuation of this series showing us exactly who Baxter Samuel Goddard the Fifth, otherwise known as God, is. He doesn’t want for anything, being son and heir to the world’s third richest man. He’s spoiled, bored and has a ‘God’ complex and isn’t happy about being given the sin and name of Gluttony on The Elite. He feels he deserved something better, something more, but control, greed, wealth, overindulgence has been his life...it’s been everything to the extreme.
As we all know by now, the tasks given always come with a price, and the price God paid is the highest yet. The result of his task was horrific and shocking! Through this nightmare, Zemira becomes a part of his life. He may think he’s saving her, but she’s saving him too. Their turbulent and sizzling hot relationship is a compelling addition to the growing bond between The Elite brothers.
Another epic ending...although it’s not a cliffhanger, it definitely left me eager for the next book. This series does not disappoint!
Gluttony is the fifth book in this incredibly addictive Elite Seven Series. The way that the stories of each brother within the most recent recruits of this secret society are interwoven to tell their individual stories within a bigger picture is so ingeniously done. I wouldn't suggest reading them out of order because they lead up to a grand finale in book seven that you won't want to miss. This series has quickly become one of my absolute favourites.
God aka Gluttony is the son of one of the richest men in the world. He has everything he has ever wanted simply handed to him and yet he's always reaching for more. Terrified that he will one day become exactly like his overly obese and disgustingly gluttonous father, God struggles every day with an addictive personality requiring him to consume everything in his path. After being recruited for The Elite, he anxiously awaits the arrival of his initiation task; a task designed to practically break down all individual resistance to the power of The Elite and cement the brotherhood into their lives. When his task causes him to plow through an innocent victim, God finally finds something he can't simply buy his way out of.
Zemira is an orphan struggling to create a better life for herself while working a fast food job and going to university. Nothing has ever been easy for her and nobody is going to hand her anything in this life. When her best-laid plans are derailed by a task gone awry, she becomes entangled with a secret society determined to eliminate her as a threat. Little does she know that she's got a guardian angel looking out for her. He barrelled into her life and took everything away from her. She knows she should hate him, but he's annoyingly persistent and she can't seem to kick him out of her life. While he helps aid her in her recovery she begins to see how utterly lost and broken he is and realizes that perhaps they need each other to feel complete.
While God attempts to navigate the complications of being a part of The Elite and protect Zemira from their dangerous grasp, he must also open himself up to the brotherhood he has been accepted into in order to take down the corrupt society that threatens all he holds dear.
You won't want to miss any book in this series and I guarantee that you will fall in love with this series as a whole. Be sure to pick up your copy ASAP.
The fifth book in the Elite Seven series and this is Baxter Samuel Goddard V story and it doesn't disappoint one bit. Always well written, K Webster gives us angst galore, lots of suspense and a good dollop of hot steamy sex to devour as well; K never lets her readers down that's for sure !!
I had trouble at first connecting with God as he acts like a right spoilt brat and he thinks himself better than anyone else but God has deep seated problems and peeling back his layers as you read is addictive and extremely enjoyable to explore. We see all sort of traits in God you would least expect and he did grow on me more and more as the book progressed. Zemira is a complete opposite to God, and they meet in the most shocking of ways which will take your breath away, BUT this is when we see a different God immerse. It's a bit like watching a caterpillar change into the butterfly, it really did make me feel a sense of fullness and happiness - with some setbacks along the way of course, and being the person he is God is also good for Zemira in ways you would never guess. This young lady maybe unsure of herself and have doubts and worries about her life but she is one strong women and I enjoyed her character so much.
Another enthralling fascinating read in this series and I can't wait for more, next up is Sloth by Gianna Darling - bring it on !!!
This book brings The Elite Seven back on track. It was the most epic, intense and addictive story. It presented a well balance between God’s personal growth and romance with Zamira and the backstory of the cruel initiation to the secretive and disturbing world of the Elite Seven. It was amazing and breath-taking and I’ve devoured the book in within a day.
