This was a lovely story featuring a down on his luck professor and a papercraft artist. One of the men tries to become invisible while the other strives to be the most visible person as a retort to his family. Martin was trying to get by day to day and found a place in a used book store. Seb is an well known artist who uses old books to create the most beautiful of art and black out poetry. Seb begins his quest to harass Martin because he believes that Martin is like other professors and therefore needs to be knocked down a peg or two. The relationship between the two is slow building but it’s perfect at Martin’s pace. With the help of Seb and Cassidy, Seb’s budding protégée, Martin is able to find his place. With Martin’s help, Seb can be with his family without a lot of drama. There was a lot of family dynamics going on and it was great to see an introvert navigating yelling families and standing in front of others. If you like slow burn, shy nerdy professors and outrageous artists, take this sweet book from the Top Shelf and enjoy.
