It's not waterproof, but it reads temperature faster than my yellow thermometer which I have personally trusted and used over the years. Calibration appears to be correct with ~0.7 degree accuracy. Not bad. If you use this for higher temperature like meat, that accuracy wouldn't be that much of a problem. That is compared to the city of Toronto's Public Health pre-calibrated issued thermometer.
Build is okay. I don't expect something this cheap to last forever but it's not as durable as my yellow thermometer. Despite that, it feels nice and of good quality. The long probe length can go a long way.
