5.0 out of 5 stars A great read about a great musician!, July 19 2008
This review is from: Marcel Tabuteau: How Do You Expect to Play the Oboe If You Can't Peel a Mushroom? (Hardcover)
I just finished this wonderful book, and I found it to be one of the finest musical biographies I have ever had the pleasure of reading. Laila Storch has given us some wonderful first hand accounts about studying with one of the greatest musicians of all time, as well as giving the reader a sense of what it was like to study at the Curtis Institute of Music during the era of Tabuteau. The included CD has examples of Tabuteau playing and speaking; what a character he must have been!

This is truly a page turner, and I was sorry when the book ended!
