Let the cynics say what they want. Obviously it won't be as good as OM1--do you think a sequel to "The Wall" would measure up? But I was pleasantly surprised by this effort, despite being pessimistic. I simply uploaded the tunes to my ipod and hit shuffle. Occassionaly a song would come up, and I would say, "Hey, that's pretty damn good, who is it?" It goes without saying. So, now I listen to the album as a whole and it is 80% solid. A damn fine effort. Weak tracks like "One foot in hell" are outweighed by great tracks like "I'm American" and "Murderer", and "Hostage"...great duo guitars chops, excellent drumming, and Tate is more nasal, but still damn good. Cons in production--I agree with a former review that the drums are mixed low, and the overall production is slightly overbalanced if that makes any sense...overall a solid album.
