This is an old product now but I was reviewing another item on Amazon and saw this one in my order history, decided to review it.
Before I bought it I remember reading a review that said it was for kids. Believe me, it isn't. There are great tutorials, difficult challenges, and unless whoever left that review was Kasparov he's probably never actually used it.
The game designers did a great job of making an adventure game out of a board game. Unfortunately it doesn't run well on my Win7 machine but I have an old laptop with XP and I still play it. In fact I kept that laptop when I got a new one solely because I didn't want to mess around with compatibility.
If you're looking for something to make your chess play interesting, this is your best choice. You're riding through the realm picking up tips on how to defeat the monsters/bad guys/dragons etc and each time you are invited to a party or whatever you get to play for more pieces. At the end of the level you should have as much money and as many pieces as possible. A lot of thought went into it and it shows.
