"Practical, Doable and FUN"

As an interior designer, I am always looking at new decorating books for ideas and tips. I read Domino: The Book of Decorating: A Room-by-Room Guide to Creating a Home that Makes Your Happy, immediately. My approach is accessibility, sustainability and livability--a live in, down to earth approach, not the hands-off look of many designers.
My approach, in other words, is similar to Domino's approach. This book provides terrific and inspiring photographs, good layout advice, and great design tips.
Your home should make you happy and that is what the designers/authors of this book set out to teach. To be happy in your home is my number one goal for my clients and myself.
I also appreciate the green tips scattered throughout the book. Another indispensable guide for green and beautiful homes that I recommend with Domino is HARMONIOUS ENVIRONMENT: BEAUTIFY, DETOXIFY & ENERGIZE YOUR LIFE YOUR HOME & YOUR PLANET.

This does not necessarily feature a selection of expensive furnishings. On the Cover, for instance, the second vase from the left (catalog #837) and the fourth vase from the right (catalog #37) are period pieces ('20s to '30s) by the Zanesville Stoneware Company pottery. They can sometimes be found at flea markets for $30 to $80. Unlike Martha though, you won't have to favor celadon green.

I love this book. I have followed every Victoria magazine and book since day one. I immediately made it my goal to be featured on the pages of Victoria Magazine. My dream came true June 92, and was the cover story. This book if full of wonderful decorating ideas, fabulous photographs and always gentle writing to put you in the mood, to sit quietly, sip a cup-o-tea and imagine yourself on the pages that are appealing to your sensual pleasure. I have always love decorating, and my own book on victorian chic style will be coming out this Fall. Again, thankyou Victoria Magazine for yet another inspirational and exquisite publication. Keep them coming.

Mauve’s ebook on home staging created so much excitement and inspiration in me to make a few changes to my decor in order to create a space that makes me feel comfortable, inspired, relaxed, and proud of the home I live in. I will definitely refer back to in as my style changes. The easy to find do’s and don’t of decor we’re very helpful, i’d definitely recommend this decor guide to anyone seeking a little inspiration and guidance!

Without question, the best and most wonderful recipes to date. So quick and easy with little or no complications. You just cannot put this cookbook down -- just so many delicious Christmas cakes, pies, cookies, breads; you name it; they're reminiscent of years gone by but even better today with all the improvements of quality ingredients that we now use. A wonderful Christmas gift for any baker on your list!

"simple, uncomplicated home living"

I'm in the process of simplifying and optimizing my home's living quarters. I have to admit that I get depressed after looking at other decorating books - for instance, where rooms have dreamy coordinating wallpaper, border, paint & fabrics. This is a decorating book that doesn't stress me out wishing I had a particular piece of furniture or a million dollars. It's the projects themselves that remind you don't need to have to go and buy expensive things around the world. With a little creativity and some elbow grease, you can pick up items from the local home or fabric warehouse and keep it simple. I'd like to make the folding screen (p. 98) from lightweight boards, hinges and casters. I may cover them with fabric instead of paint. But I'll probably start with the linen pillowcases (p. 130) simply ... full review

A nice hardcover book about the Eames and their brilliant designs. Nice coffee table book or design reference book.

The Christmas ideas were great, but personally I prefer a straight cookbook. The book was beautiful, and I would highly recommend it to 'younger' readers who would truly appreciate the combination of ideas and recipes.
